I used to have very strong responses to clitoral stimulation both from myself and my husband. I am 49 years old, and for the past six months have been gradually losing sensation in my clitoris. I feel aroused when he gives me foreplay but as he continues with the clitoral stimulation, the sensation begins to just *disappear* and no matter what he does (orally or manually), I can't get the feeling back again. He is doing everything the same as he always did, and it always worked very well for me before. Then there are times when I get *close* to it but can't have an orgasm. I note that sometimes I do *tense up* unconsciously. I have never had these problems when I was younger, and I wonder if this is just part of getting older, or can older women enjoy orgasms as intensely as younger ones? This is very depressing and frustrating for us both, as sometimes he will spend HOURS gently trying to build me up to a climax, and then it just dies out. He has even tried teasing me (building me up and then stopping the stimulation) for a little while...but nothing seems to work anymore. I am desperate to feel the wonderful orgasms I used to have.
