One of the problems is that many inexperienced people have got the impression that the clitoris is an inch or so across. In reality the average clitoris is extremely small. Obviously, only the big ones make news!
It's rather like judging your personal appearance compared with film stars. So, don't expect too much. If your g/f is in the mood gently rub your finger tip up to the top of her slit. Just above it you will find, if you are lucky, a tiny little bump, about an eighth of an inch or so across. If it's bigger than that you have struck gold.
