There was an NYT article in March 2009 about an equivalent of DOing. The story was essentially a series of verbal images intended to strike the reader as either erotic or bizarre. One example is the image of a velvet-curtained room of supine women, unclothed from the waist down, being pleasured by fully clothed men without eye contact, in formation and on schedule at 7 AM. Another example, my favorite, is a participating engineer’s report that manually fixing his attention on a tiny spot of a woman’s body improves his concentration at work. (It sounds like something the comic strip character Dilbert might say, but I think he is right.) Anyway, the article wove these images into a theme suggesting a step toward female dominance in an ongoing male-female battle about sexuality. The theme may not be correct, but the article was entertaining and got me to thinking.

Has anyone had thoughts of male or female dominance during DOing, or when contemplating DOing? When contemplating it, I have wondered who is dominant and who is submissive. Is the female dominant because all focus will be on her body and pleasure? Or is the male dominant because he will create and control that pleasure, playing her body like a musical instrument? Or is the female dominant because the pleasure experienced by the male will be the result of her body and her orgasm, not his, yet he inexplicably craves it? Or is the male dominant because he is using her to intensify or satisfy that craving? Is he taking care of her, is he giving a recital, is he her servant, or is she his servant?

I would be interested in what males and females who enjoy DOing think, and in what they believe their partners think.
