Both lubricants have lasting power and work well for both DOing and masturbation.

KY is a water based lubricant and is especially good when you are using latex gloves in the case that you are not screened with your DO partner.

Vaseline is recommended when no latex is required, and has a drag quality that enhances the sensation. Where we do recommend that you use the Vaseline brand, we have found that drug store brands of personal lubricant work equally as well and tend to cost less. Please avoid those with non-oxynol 9.

Apart from latex concerns, it is good to experiment with both to determine your own personal preference.
